Florist's new surveillance a welcome christmas gift

A man broke into Cesar's flowers in San Jose, CA in mid-December, ordering owner Celina Sandoval and her young son to the floor and emptying the cash register. He didn't get away with much cash - but the robbery has had Sandoval scarred ever since

Celina Sandoval is now afraid to be alone in the store - and now drives (instead of walking like before) to and from work each day.

Neighbor Jacqueline Valdes read about Celina's problems on a San Jose community blog, and chose to do something - buy Sandoval a security camera. Valdes sent e-mails to several friends and readers of the same blog, explaining Sandoval's plight. Soon, she had raised over $400 for a camera, and local security specialists were installing the new CCTV system in Cesar's flowers.

How did Celina Sandoval react? Relief. She says she's less scared than she was before - and feels like the camera will help prevent any future robberies - and she's not afraid to be alone in her shop anymore.
