Bonifacio hospital deploys IQinVision megapixel cameras for high-resolution surveillance

Published by Amelia on August 6, 2010 3:44 PM

In search of an IP camera solution to replace their outdated analog video surveillance system, Bonifacio hospital, the newest hospital on the island of Corsica, settled on megapixel cameras from IQinVision. The top priorities for the hospital were discreet positioning of the cameras and the quality of the resulting footage. Using IQeye Sentinel cameras the hospital was able to reduce the number of IP cameras they had initially planned on by half.

Hospital officials were looking for a system that would be able to recognize anyone entering the facility, a feat the analog cameras were not able to do. In total, the hospital used 23 cameras around the exterior and interior of the hospital. The cameras record at a rate of 8 frames per second. With megapixel resolution from IQeye Sentinel cameras, system operators have forensic levels of video detail at their fingertips in the event of an attack or if a patient disappears.

Video footage can be monitored at all times by security personnel. In addition, the camera feeds are accessible to the heads of each medical ward using the hospital network depending on access privileges of each user. A number of incidents have already been captured by the IQeye Sentinel cameras. The high-resolution footage made it easy for security to easily identify the suspects, giving the hospital staff and patients peace of mind.
