The Delaware Psychiatric Center has installed 200 digital surveillance cameras in response to a series of incidents that exposed security issues in and around the facility. The new system will help to improve security for hospital employees and patients, and will provide important visual evidence in complaint investigations.
ACTi network cameras are being used as part of a new hospital surveillance project in Japan's Chubu District. The IP-based surveillance system increases hospital security with a combination of 50 ACTi ACM-3411 megapixel dome cameras, and four ACTi ACM-5611 megapixel IP box cameras. The cameras are monitored using ACTi NVR Enterprise video management software. Compared to a traditional CCTV system, the IP-based solution was far more cost-effective for the hospital. Because the ACTi cameras operate using Power over Ethernet, installation and maintenance costs are lessened. Additionally, megapixel cameras offer a much broader field of view, so fewer cameras are required for monitoring large areas of the hospital.
Stafford General Hospital, located in Birmingham England, has updated its video surveillance system from an analog CCTV setup to an IP-based solution. The new system features a combination of Axis IP network cameras and video servers, along with networking equipment from Cisco. For this large-scale surveillance system, the switch to IP greatly reduces installation costs while also providing a number of key benefits.
The University of Texas recently installed IP cameras from D-Link to provide video security for the school's new Health Science Center. The surveillance cameras allow operators to see who's entering and leaving the high-security facility, and work to provide effective access control. The system is also used for monitoring and recording activities within the data center, for reviewing any reported incidents, and for monitoring what tasks are being performed throughout the day.
In search of an IP camera solution to replace their outdated analog video surveillance system, Bonifacio hospital, the newest hospital on the island of Corsica, settled on megapixel cameras from IQinVision. The top priorities for the hospital were discreet positioning of the cameras and the quality of the resulting footage. Using IQeye Sentinel cameras the hospital was able to reduce the number of IP cameras they had initially planned on by half.
