Surveillance footage to play key role in heated alimony case

Celebrity superstar Britney Spears has led a life in the limelight for nearly ten years. In that time, she has had experienced much in the public eye: annulments, marriages, childbirth, nervous breakdowns, public drunkenness, divorce, and most recently a custody battle.

Britney, and her former husband Kevin Federline are currently embroiled in a sticky over the custody of their two children, Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline. Federline claims that Spears' reckless behavior and wild partying is detrimental for their children, and is demanding full custody of the kids.

As evidence for his case, Mr. Federline has subpoenaed a host of celebrity witnesses, including Ms. Spears' former assistant, Alli Sims. Another interesting exhibit? Surveillance footage from their shared home where Britney (also known as Brit-Brit) strikes Kevin with a frying pan. The 15-camera system, originally installed to protect their Malibu, CA mansion, may come back to bite Spears. Home surveillance footage shows Britney snatching up a frying pan (that Kevin intended to use) and struck Mr. Federline. Instead of retaliating, he walks away and Ms. Spears hurls an ash tray at his head. This footage could play a key role in the custody case over the two young Spears-Federline children, and could set a precedent for home surveillance footage use in the future.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline were married in Fall 2004 in a late night ceremony. Bridesmaids and Groomsmen celebrated the couple's wedding in customized velour jumpsuits. Their marriage lasted for a little over two years, ending in November 2006.
