Church surveillance solution features a combination of Axis network camera models

Published by Dan on February 25, 2010 4:12 PM

Missouri's James River Assembly Church has turned to Axis Communications for a large-scale surveillance project enhancing security for the church and community facilities at its two campuses. The project incorporates a variety of Axis network camera models and encoders helping the church to transition from its existing analog setup to a new IP-based surveillance solution.

Included in the new church surveillance setup is a mix of fixed and PTZ cameras that features the Axis 215 PTZ network camera, the HDTV-quality Axis M3014 and Axis Q1755, as well as the wireless Axis 211W. The HDTV models utilize H.264 compression to stream and record high-quality video images at reduced file sizes. They offer superior megapixel resolution for more detailed images as well as a wider field of view, so fewer cameras are needed to monitor larger areas. And with H.264 compression, the church is able to archive up to 180 days worth of footage.

The church's existing cameras are also incorporated into the system through Axis 241Q video encoders. The Axis 241Q works to convert analog footage to digital, allowing the older security cameras to operate along the same network as the new IP models.
