Axis network cameras used to increase security during Little League World Series

Published by Amelia on September 2, 2010 4:17 PM

Every year over 300,000 people flock to the small town of South Williamsport, Pennsylvania for the Little League World Series. The two-week long tournament attracts not only players, but swarms of families, fans, and international visitors. To help the small town cope with the influx of visitors, additional Axis network cameras were brought in for the length of the tournament to work in conjunction with an already existing system of Axis video surveillance equipment.

The temporary Axis cameras helped to keep players, their families, and fans safe throughout the tournament. The Axis cameras were placed strategically around the stadium and dormitory complex where international participants stayed.

Along with the new batch of Axis PTZ, fixed and wireless cameras, Axis also deployed Axis Q1910 E Thermal Network cameras for monitoring the perimeter around the stadium and dormitories at night. These cameras are ideal for difficult lighting conditions and can detect people, objects and even incidents in complete darkness.
