Missouri's James River Assembly Church has turned to Axis Communications for a large-scale surveillance project enhancing security for the church and community facilities at its two campuses. The project incorporates a variety of Axis network camera models and encoders helping the church to transition from its existing analog setup to a new IP-based surveillance solution.

Sony just announced four new IP cameras built to deliver high-definition surveillance footage. Each network camera model offers H.264, MPEG-4, and JPEG compression, and can stream high-def video at up to 30 frames per second in full 1280 x 720 resolution.

Bosch is releasing a new, easy-to-use video management solution geared towards small-scale surveillance applications such as shops, retail stores and pharmacies. The Bosch Video Recorder 400 is simple to setup right out of the box. All you have to do is connect your cameras and power and the unit is able to automatically begin recording. With its built-in web viewer, users can monitor cameras remotely, play back archived footage, and even configure and control their cameras from afar. And in the event of an alarm, the system's video manager will instantly send out an automated email alert.

Axis Communications is involved in a large-scale bus surveillance project in Prague. The deployment features 3.500 Axis 209FD-R network cameras monitoring the interior of each vehicle in the city's fleet of public transit buses. The cameras will improve passenger and driver security, and will also provide visual evidence to help solve crimes such as vandalism and theft.
