XProtect Enterprise 7.0 offers a new administration interface and a host of tools that allow for faster deployments, intuitive surveillance operations, and easier maintenance. The software is designed to handle an unlimited number of cameras, servers, users, and sites.

The River Vale Police Department in New Jersey recently installed a digital surveillance solution from JVC Professional Products. The new IP surveillance system replaces an outdated analog system with a mix of indoor and outdoor cameras watching over any areas at the police station where officers and visitors are including entrances, the dispatch center, the jail, and the parking lot.

Axis network cameras are being used to provide video surveillance for six casinos owned by the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, the third largest tribe in the United States. Choctaw casinos replaced their system of analog cameras and monitors and installed over 1,000 Axis PTZ and fixed network cameras to provide high quality IP video surveillance.

This week D-Link introduced two feature-rich IP network cameras designed for professional video surveillance applications. The D-Link DCS-3110 and DCS-6110 are versatile IP cameras well-suited for remote and local monitoring of everything from businesses and industrial sites to office buildings and schools.

The Gran Casino in Chile has upgraded its IP video surveillance system with the addition of the NUUO central management system. The visual security system is used in high-priority areas of the casino including the gaming space, cash registers, parking lots, and hotel areas.

Stafford General Hospital, located in Birmingham England, has updated its video surveillance system from an analog CCTV setup to an IP-based solution. The new system features a combination of Axis IP network cameras and video servers, along with networking equipment from Cisco. For this large-scale surveillance system, the switch to IP greatly reduces installation costs while also providing a number of key benefits.

LaGuardia Community College, located in Long Island City, N.Y., is using intelligent network cameras from Sony to drastically improve its video security system. The Sony IP cameras are mounted throughout the campus and will aid in remote video monitoring of building corridors, streets, and parking lots. As part of the surveillance upgrade, most of the school's 200 existing analog security cameras have been replaced with a mix of Sony IP network cameras, including the Sony SNC-DF85N and the Sony SNC-DF80N intelligent mini-dome cameras.
